Associate Professor in the Department of Acupuncture & Moxibustion at Kyung Hee University and a board-certified acupuncture specialist who treats, studies and teaches musculoskeletal pain at the Spine & Joint Center, Kyung Hee University Korean Medicine Hospital.
- Research · Clinical trials, practice guidelines and real-world data studies within an evidence-based framework; more recently, combining multimodal four-examination data (ultrasound imaging, 3D motion analysis, HRV, patient-reported outcomes) with AI to identify pattern-identification subtypes and assist procedures.
- Practice · Musculoskeletal and chronic intractable pain at the Spine & Joint Center, applying non-surgical specialized procedures such as pharmacopuncture, acupotomy and thread embedding under ultrasound guidance.
- Teaching · The scientific basis of acupuncture, musculoskeletal clinical disorders and musculoskeletal ultrasound, for undergraduates, graduate students, continuing education for Korean medicine doctors, and conferences at home and abroad.
Vision
What the lab aims for
- 01Vision
Separate what holds up in traditional Korean medicine from what does not, and fuse it creatively with modern science such as neurophysiology, neuroanatomy and AI to establish a modern K-medicine.
- 02Practice
Do not let clinical and research results end as papers inside the lab: expand Korean medicine techniques, develop new health technologies, and carry them into industry.
- 03Goal
With K-medicine and the medical technologies built on it, lead the direction of medicine and healthcare at home and abroad, and through that contribute to human health.
